Virtual Prayer Walk through Bryansk, Russia

We are going to take a prayer walk through the city of Bryansk… a city with a population of 500,000 people. Even though Russia is historically Christian under Orthodoxy, there is great misunderstanding, or lack of understanding of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I encourage you to take a prayer walk through the city of Bryansk with us here.

1. Pray for the citizens of the city and region of Bryansk, Russia to begin to open up their desire to seek spiritual understanding. Historically, this is a very spiritual place in the world. But still the most prominent answer that most people have to spiritual questions is that they are atheist. But there is a growing hunger in this city for answers about God. Pray that this most recognizable symbol in Russia… the cross… may guide people to seek out answers that can only be found in a relationship with Jesus Christ.

2. Pray for the young orphans in Bryansk, Russia. At 17 years of age, those children who have been in an orphanage are “released” into the world.  An extremely large percentage of these young people are totally unprepared for the world and have little mentoring in the basics of life. And they are especially disconnected from finding answers to a relationship with Christ. These 2 young men are products of the orphanage, and are now out on their own. They are being ministered to by a young people’s church in Bryansk. Pray for them and their relationship with Christ. Pray for the thousands of others that the church in Bryansk may reach out to them.

3. Pray for History Makers Church in Bryansk, Russia. This church has been formed to specifically reach out to the young generation of Bryansk citizens. Each summer there is an outreach camp where they invite their friends. Each Sunday they meet for worship. Pray for God’s hand to work through this unique church in Bryansk.  Currently there are close to 100 young people they regularly work with.  Pray for the outreach camp that is coming June 30, 2010.

4. Pray for the Leadership of History Makers Church. Pasha Ryzhichenko is the appointed pastoral leader of this young church. His wife Luba Ryzhinchenko is the teaching team leader. Daniel Ryzhichenko is the worship team leader and one of the main teachers. He and his fiance Julia will be married in October 2010. Pray for the leadership of History Makers Church to develop.
