Healthy things grow… and growing things multiply…

This is the theme of the “Church Health Plan” in Bryansk, Russia. There are existing churches in the region, and we seek out those churches that choose to make a 5 year commitment to grow healthy by taking a serious examination of themselves. There are 3 major steps in this plan.

Step 1: Examination your Church Health – by examining your strengths and weakness:

There are 8 biblical characteristics of a healthy church.

1. Empowering Leadership
2. Gift Based Ministry
3. Need Oriented Evangelism
4. Effective Structures
5. Loving Relationships
6. Passionate Spirituality
7. Inspiring Worship
8. Holistic Small Groups

Each church committing to this “health plan” discovers their weakest characteristic, proceeds to find out why this is their weakest characteristic, then makes a plan to begin to grow healthier in that area of weakness. This process is repeated several times over the course of a few years which makes for healthy examination and growth. Then… the healthier a church becomes the more they will grow... the more it grows, multiplication becomes a natural byproduct!  In simple terms, this is the Church Health Plan.

Step 2: Partner with a Church - Have a partner Church from a different culture who committed to the same “health plan” for their church.   Each Russian Church in this plan is partnered with a cross cultural church that will provide encouragement, coaching, advice, mentoring, accountability and prayer. But most importantly, the partner church MUST commit to the same principles of health and examination and coaching that the Russian Church does. We seek a cross cultural experience that challenges each church to reach the lost of their community in the most effective manner possible instead of just relying on standard church models.

Step 3: Multiply! The stated goal of each church is their commitment to see God’s work multiply in their city and in their world. We are out to fulfill the Great Commission… to “go and make disciples.”

Currently there are 4 Russian churches and 3 American partner churches in the “Church Health Plan.”

1. Bezchitsa Church in the city of Bryansk – led by Pastor Nicoli Nishkov. They partner with LifeWay Church of Federal Way, Washington led by Pastor Don Turner
2. New Life Church in the city of Bryansk led by Pastor Dema Redin. They partner with Beverly Park Baptist Church in Seattle led by Pastor Travis McIntosh
3. Dyatkovo Church in the region of Bryansk led by Pastor Alexander (Sasha) Kuzin. They partner with Meadowbrook Church in Redmond, Washington led by Pastor Scott Brewer
4. Regnedina Church in the region of Bryansk led by Pastor Vladimir (Vova) Nasedkin. This is a very small church and currently is in need a partner church.
